my opinion on hale's questions to the proctor's is that they are good questions to ask someone who is been accused of been with the devil. I think this because if they really were with the devil they would not be able to say anything that has to do with the bible. The bible is very holy and powerful. If they were with the devil they would burn or be in pain as they are saying the ten commandments. So yes if they can say holy words like that, then they dont belong to the devil. If they cant then is bacause the word of god is powerful and they cant fight over them.AMEN!!!!

  2. 1)MY opinion on hales questions is they were pretty good questions to me. HE pretty much just started from bottom and worked his way to the top with questions ranging from why are you scarcely at church to recite your ten commandments. His methods i thought were perfect because he asked them to recite the ten commandments and when you are a witch or whatever your not supposed to be able to say them.

2)Well the lies that were spoken in act 2 were abigale faking to have gotten stabbed because Elizabeth supposedly did it to her through a voodoo doll. And the truth revealed in act 2 is Mr proctor telling elizabeth he had an affair with abigale. The lies in act 1 are the girls lying to everyone sayign that they werent playing around with witchery and so i think that the lies in act 2 were a little more severe and life changing than in act 1 because elizabeth could be hanged for her being accused. adn i think that the lies build on top of eachother which causes certain events to play out in the movie

  4. 1) I believe that Hale's questions to the Proctors were over stepping the boundaries of a minister. In my opinon i think that a minister should believe a person when they deny the accusations of being witches. I don't think that reciting the ten commandments correctly or wrong validates whether or not one is using witchcraft.
2)I believe that in Act 2 a lot of the questions that were asked in Act 1 are answered. In Act 1 Abigail states that Tituba was putting spells on her and harming her with witchcraft, but in Act 2 she changes her story to where Elizabeth is the one that is harming her with withcraft. In Act 1 John Proctor was set on keeping his affair with Abigail a secret by all means. In Act 2 John is faced with the problem of maybe having to tell the secret for the well being of his wife.

  5. 1.My opinion over hale's questions to the Proctors was unnecessary because after the Proctors kept denying any activity of witchcraft hale kept questioning them over and over again.
2.I think Act 2 answers a lot of the questions in act 1. Every one starts spiiling lies in act 2 and blaming other people for their own actions for example when abigail blames elizabeth for the needle stabbing. Also in act 1 john was hoping to keep the secret of him and abigail a secret but then in act 2 he might have to tell the truth about him and abigail just to set his wife elzibeth free.

  6. #1 Well, truly I personally think that Hale's questions are respectable and reasonable. JP or John Proctor and Mrs. Proctor are saved by the good lord. I say this because being demond loved or in devil worship, you cannot recite any type of verse or prayer in the books of the bible without their being consequences to the actions. The bible or being in christianity is a strong religon and if you are with the devil your body wont allow you to speak any good about the lord and savior jesus christ

  7. 1.What I think about hales's questions to the proctor's is that they are pretty well thought about questions to ask I beleive this 2.because they werent really with the devil because if they really were then they wouldnt have the ability to speak of god.

  8. 1. Hales questions to the Proctors were extreamly evasive and too threatening. The question were good, but he said it in way that may have startled them. He came to the house already knowing Elizabeth was called out of being a witch. So he had her Guilty in his mind as he was asking questions. They dont seem valid for persuming somebodys worshipping the devil, for one who doesnt not attend church doesnt not worship the devil and for not rembering comandments either.
    2. John Proctor lieing to his wife Elizabeth about how many people were around when he met with abigail, led to Elizabeth not trusting John, Which later on in the play could possibly make it harder for him.

  10. 1. Hale's questioning of the Proctors is very understandle seeing how Elizabeth Proctor was accused of witchcraft that day in court, but shouldn't have went so far because if she was a witch she would not be able to speak of anything dealing with god or the bible. Hale should have seen that the accusation could not stand because she could speak of the bible.

  11. 1).Hale's questions to the Procters were neccesary. He doesn't know the real truth so he questions them. I would question them too. He didn't accuse Sarah of witchcraft; he was just making sure he got the truth. His methods do seem valid. He is a man of God so whatever he does is what he truely beleives.
2). In Act 1 the lies are just begining so they are easier to beleive but in Act 2 things get crazy and unbeleiveable. The lies and the truth contribute to the play's theme because it helps the flow. When a lie is spoken a little bit of truth is spoken later on. They go hand-in-hand together.
