  1. I think the key conflict is that Abigail is in love with Proctor and wants his wife killed. This is the main problem because John went to the court and admitted his affair with abigail and if the court believed it Abigail would be guilty and the court would realize why she is doing all of this and they wouldnt believe her anymore because she would be known as a liar and people of god do not lie. But Elizabeth lied to the court and said it wasnt true not knowing John had already admitted it. So the problem is that Abigail looks innocent.

  2. 2. At this point i think Proctor and Elizabeth are going through tests. They are being tested on if they lie or not about the affair and about being witches. They are also being tested on how strong their relationship is because Abigail is trying to break them apart and if it works and they turn on each other they are failing the test Abigail has started.

  3. 1. The key conflict is wether the judges believe Mary or not. This is a big problem considering that it means the death or freedom of lots of people.
    2. Elizabeth and John Proctor, because they have to trust each other in telling the truth.
    3. The questions in the play not always mean justice, for example with abigail a question asked will probably come as a lie.
    4. The girls will be hanged for their crime of lying, Elisabeth and John are going to have a baby boy; Abigail will get lost in the woods.

  4. 1.the most important conflict in act 3 is when the elizabeth is being accused of being a witch. i think this is the most importanjt struggle because john is trying to do every thing he can to save his wife.
2.the ones that are doing the test are elizabeth mrs nurse and guiles wife. they are undergoing the test because elizabeth was accused of attempting to kill abigale mrs nurse was accused of killing putnams babys and guiles wife was accused because they beleaved she was killing livestock.
3.these questions make the play more suspencefull when you are readying or watching the play.
4.i think that the judges will relize that they were wrong about abigale and she will be accuse of being a witch.

  5. 1.the key conflict in act 3 is john proctor and abigail. the have a past that started all of this but they are keeping it a seceret. i consider this the most important conflict.
2.mary warren and john proctor are being tested to tell the truth.
3.the set the person being questioned in a stuation that they are unable to react in a normal way because they would be suspisious of witchery.
4.i think that all hope will be lost and john proctor will be hanged along with 41 others and the court will later learn that they did they wrong thing and rue the day they killed innocinet people.

  6. 1. The key conflict of act 3 was the conflict between the court and the proctors, because John Proctor finally tells the truth about his adultry with abigial and when Goody Proctor is brought in, she lies and tells the court that he is a honest man trying to keep johns name clear.Yes i do, so far becuase it just illustrates what confusion is going on in salem, even between husband and wife.
    2. The proctors and their maid Mary Warren. When goody lies and tells the court that john is not an adulter, then Mary turns on him and says that he is using the devil to gain control of what mary warren is doing and saying. Goody Proctor is being tested becuase she wont admit to witchcraft because she didnt do it, she is holding true to the story.
    3. These questions that are asked for leading questions i dont think are always accurate because its just one part of the store that they are asking, and the question that they ask could go any way. I think that they do not serve justice, becuase they ask the question and then the girls go into fits, saying that they are attacking them from the other room.
    4. I think that the girls will keep naming names while the proctors are in jail and when the girls name someone powerful like the courts daughter or wife, they will stop the investigation and everyone that was in the jail will be released, and the girls will be in lots of trouble at the end. I think abigial will be in jail for a long time and the other girls will be in alot less trouble.

  7. 1.I think the key conflict of Act 3 was that Elizabeth who never lies thought she had to lie to save her husband when he really told the truth. I think this is the most important conflict because now John is being accused of doing deeds for the devil
2.I think that John is going through the biggest test right now as he admitted to adultry and his wife denied it in court which could have saved them both and Abigail would have gone to jail. I think Mary Warren was also going through a test as she was coming to confess and the court was telling her to faint and she couldnt so then in the end she turns everything back on John.
3.I think these leading questions help keep the audience wondering and on their feet because they think that the character is going to say the right answer but then they dont and it changes everything and makes everyone wonder
4.I think in the end that Rev. Hale is going to come up with something to get John and Elizabeth out of jail and then come up with enough evidence to put Abigial away in jail

  8. 1.john proctor coming into the hearing with mary warren saying she and all the other girtls had been lying and not ever seen the devil or any spirits. BEcause it caused a big uproar between all the girls, and when mary would do something abigail and all the other girls would do the same thing so that they would beleive mary was possessed by the devil. yes because the girls made john look like a fool and confess to adultery.
2.john, mary and elizabeth because mary is saying that they never saw a spirit or was confronted by a witch, or the devil, and the girls are making out like she is the witch or the devil and is possessing them. john is because he is backing mary up and beveives her and elizabeth because they use her to answer question about john comitting adultery because she never lies.
    3. it affects the action of the play by setting different moods of the characters. no they dont serve justice.
4.john is gonna be hanged. its not gonna resolve anything because3 john isnt the one that is making abigail and all the other girls do what they are doing and he isnt part of the witch craft.

  9. 1. I think the key conflict of act 3 was Mary Warren testifying against Abagail. This is very important because until now, nobody questioned the girls act. I do believe that this struggle is the most important conflict of the play so far, because now the accusers are being accused.
    2. Mary Warren and Abagail are both undergoing a test. Mary Warren has to testify against the rest of the girls to save Elizabeth, but the girls act like she is sending her spirit at them. Abagail on the other hand has to put on a good act so that she does not get in trouble for lying.
    3. These questions affect Mary Warrens answers in the play. If Mary Warren would not have been asked these leading questions, I feel that they would have found Elizabeth innocent, and all this "witch hunting" would be over. These questions in no way serve justice, because the answers depends on the question. The town is actually becoming worse just because of these questions.
    4. I think John and Elizabeth Procter will be saved, and Abagail will be hanged. The judges will finally understand that this is all just a stupid little act performed by these girls so they dont get in trouble, and they will let the procters free. The town is going to be mad at Abagail for all these lies that got innocent people killed, and she will be hanged to end the witchcraft madness.

  10. 1.) To me the key conflict would have to be the part where mary turns on john and tells every one that he's a witch and when rev hale quits and leaves john to struggle with this by himself. yes I conside this the most important conflict of the play so far because every one is aginst him.
2.)John proctor is undergoing many tests through out this act. Hes not sure if he should come out and tell people about him and abigail ,but after he thinks about it and see's that if he tells the judge why abigail and the other girls and fakeing and why abigail wants his wife dead then he could get her out of jail and this would all be over.
3.) One of the leading questions is when the judge askes elizabeth if what her husband has said to be true (about him and abigail) is really true. John implies that she will say yes but yet she dosent. I do not think these questions serve any justice whatsoever.
4.) I think that later on in the book the girls crying witch craft are going to hurt mary for turning on them and john will go to jail but later will be relesed and some how prove the girls wrong.

  11. 1. I think that in Act 3 one of the main conflicts is when John Proctor confesses he had and affair with Abagial and that was the reason she wanted Elizabeth Proctor dead so bad. Abagail does not want to answer this when she is asked if it is true. When the courts ask Elizabeth she denys this and says it is not true.

    2. I think that Elizabeth is going through some tests because she is in jail being tried for being and witch and Abagail is trying to steal her husband. Also, Elizabeth is struggling on weather or not to tell to the courts that John commited adultrey even though John already admitted that he did.

    3. One leading question in Act 3 is when the court in asking Mary Warren if they were lying about the witches and John is exspecting her to say it was all a lie and she did but when the girls started yelling saying she was a demon bird then she said she was possessed by something to make her say that. If she would had told the whole truth then maybe people on trial would have been set free. I don't think that they do when they kinda already know what the answer is going to be.

    4. I think that the courts are never going to believe what Elizabeth says since she said that John did not have an affair with Abagail. Even though this has happended I think one of the girls will finally confess it was all a lie and everyone will be set free and Abagail and the girls that lied will be in trouble.

  12. 1. the key conflict is getting the court to believe Abigail and the other girls are lying about seeing witchcraft. Its the most important thing so far! John Procter and two of his friends got all the evidence they can manage to take to the court. They even have Mary Warren risking her life by confessing that the girls are lying when before she acted like she saw witchcraft.
    2. John Procter by giving up his good name to prove that Abigail is a Harlet. Abigail by keeping her lie going of witchcraft so she doesn't get killed. Mary Warren confessing to the witchcraft lie to save Miss Procter and everyoner else acussed of witchcraft. Miss Procter is being tested by the court to tell the truth by tellin the court why she sent Abigail away from her home.
    3. Ex. "You have seen the Devil, Have you not?" The court uses this type of question to get the answer they want. They trick them in a way also by how much power the have if you say no.
    4. I think the court will end up killing alot of people and be too stubborn to admit they are wrong. Dr Hale will probably tell the stuck up court I told you so. The gilrs will be burned especially Abigail. Hope she rots on a noose

  13. 1. The key conflict of Act 3 is obviously the attempt of John Proctor to uncover the scheme of Abigail Williams and the other village girls so that he may save his wife and friends. This is also the most important conflict because it shows a culmination of the play's events: Mary admits the falsehhod of witchcraft in Salem, John admits to an affair with Abigail,Elizabeth lies about said affair which in turn condemns her. Abigail and the girls then lie about the witchcraft again my putting on a convincing act and saying that Mary Warren was appearing a a bird. Mary then lied and said that John was lieing and that he had the devil in him to save her own skin. This ends in John being condemned, hence the most important part of the play and really a display of the true hysteria gripping the town.

2.John and mary went through a test of honor in that John had to tell the truth to save his wife and mary had to tell the truthto save the town of the witch craze, but she failed by lieing in the end. Elizabeth went through a test of honesty in which she failed trying to protect her husband.

3.by already seeting up the answer that they want to hear, the judge automatically makes the defendant lean one way or another.

4.I'm not sure what'll happen in the final act,but I suspect that they will kill john and then will find the wrong in their ways or something of that nature.
